DAY 2️⃣ of 👩🏻🔬 MAD SCIENTIST 👩🏻🔬 Holiday Camp 2023
🧲🌈🚤 👩🔬 In today's episode of discovering the wonders of science, our Junior Einsteins had their hands tapped on in a series of exciting experiments - from walking rainbow 🌈 to creating chemical reactions 👩🔬 to magnetic magic 🧲
🌈 The Walking Rainbow experiment is a colourful science experiment that involves mixing primary colours to create secondary colours & watch them slowly "walk" up a paper towel 👀🌈 Our Junior Einsteins had fun watching the colours merge & being amazed at how they travel up the paper towel 😯 As the paper towels absorb the water, the colours slowly "climb" the towel & merge with the colours next to them! 🤯 TAADAAAAA!! We see 🌈🌈
🚤 In Baking Soda-Powered Boat experiment, our Junior Einsteins got to discover that when mixing baking soda & vinegar, they will get a chemical reaction that releases carbon dioxide gas & pushes the boat forward 🚤💨 They learned that this principle is applied to airplane jet engines, where hot gases are thrown backward out of the engine & that propels the airplane forward ✈️ 🤯 They excitedly watch the baking soda-powered boat move across the water as it creates bubbles & moves at a surprising speed 👀Fizz, fizz, zoom! 🚤💨
🧲 To our lil' ones, magnets are wondrous things, almost magical in their ability to click together when they bring two pieces next to each other! 🪄🧲 In this activity, our Junior Einsteins got to explore the concept of magnetic force through an object & how they could use this force to create a little magnetic maze game! 👾
Who knew science could be so exciting?! 🤯🥳 Super glad that our lil' ones were having a blast this morning! 🤪👏🏼
